What happened to Slidey Feet?
02/12/2019 - By Lindsay Goodridge
For those of you who didn't know, Slidey Feet is a cute top down puzzle game. You played as a penguin trying to make his way back home. The objective of the game was to break each tile in the level in order to unlock the level's exit. Slidey Feet was released back in 2017 and was the first game ever developed by yours truly (solo developer at Juicy Beetle Games). Since then, I've learnt so much in terms of development, marketing, and the overall structure of mobile games, and pretty much cringe at the way I originally designed Slidey Feet.

Around mid 2018, I decided to leave Slidey Feet alone and begin development on a new title called 'Just Survive: Arena' (later called Colosseum Chaos). Around August 2019, Google as well as Apple changed their uploading requirements to only allow apps to be submitted using the 64 bit system. Unfortunately, Slidey Feet had originally been created under the older 32 bit system, which mean't that Slidey Feet would be taken down on google play and restricted on the App store. This is why you can no longer see Slidey Feet on Google Play. You can still download Slidey Feet on the App Store, but the build has not changed since. On top of this, some of the system's originally designed in the game are now obsolete, so updating the game would take a lot longer than just pushing a few buttons.
At this point, you are probably wondering what's going to happen to Slidey Feet? Well, I've pretty much stopped development for it at this stage. I would however, like to re-design and re-vamp the game to a more suitable and polished version. But for now, it's on the back-burner. Maybe when the business has been further established, then I might re-visit the old game, but until then, you wont see much of Slidey Feet.
Thank you to the players who had played and enjoyed Slidey Feet. I can't express how much I appreciated the time you had invested into playing that game. I hope you continue to follow me through my development journey and hope you will enjoy my next few games!
